Most of our animals come with no financial support and most have medical
and special needs. We provide sponsorship opportunities for individuals,
groups, and organizations who would like to support the care of our animal friends.

| Background: Sunny is a Shepherd mix we fostered for the Jackson County Animal Shelter. He was terrified in the County kennels and had been adopted then returned due to his fearful behavior. We're happy to report that Sunny made amazing progress while at the Sanctuary and has been adopted by one of our volunteers. |

Background: Marley is a young Terrier/Lab mix we fostered for the Jackson County Animal Shelter. She was very scared in the kennels and growled when people approached her cage. She's working on meeting people politely by helping greet people in the Sanctuary office. She's very smart and knows sit, down, shake, speak, come, and off. Marley is a joyful bundle of energy that loves other dogs and cats. She's housebroken and walks well on leash. |

| Background: Freddy and Friday are two young goats rescued by Multnomah County Animal Control. These two best buds are friendly but mischievous. They are always looking for new and exciting ways to keep the staff and volunteers on their toes. |
|
Background: Orville and Wilbur are adult Nubian goats rescued by the Humane Society of the United States. We named them Orville and Wilbur for their "airplane ears." Wilbur is the brown one, he's a little more shy then his very outgoing brother, but still quite friendly. Orville, the black one, loves to be near people and get petted. They really enjoy the company of the other animals and must be adopted as a pair. These goats would be wonderful companions for a lonely horse and will make a great addition to a family. |

| Background: Professor is a very distinguished gentleman ram transferred from the Rogue Valley Humane Society. He takes good care of his lady friends, Brownie and Princess. He's got amazing wool and feels like a cloud of cotton balls. His wool is great for weaving. |

Background: Brownie is a rare chocolate Icelandic ewe transferred from the Rogue Valley Humane Society. She's a little shy and has lovely wool that can be spun into yarn. |

| Background: Princess is a very loving goat transferred from the Rogue Valley Humane Society. She comes right up and gives kisses. She also likes to take walks on leash. She's got a splendid personality and really is a Nubian Princess. |

Background: Pink with a black eye mask, young Rosie arrived generally healthy, but a tad overweight. She's very popular with the horses. Rosie has a well known affinity to carrots and blueberries.

| Background: Duke is a lucky young colt who was at the slaughterhouse when Whispering Winds Equine Rescue bought his freedom and then transferred him to Sanctuary One. After several month of working hard to help him regain his mental and physical health, Duke was adopted by a loving family who is giving him all the TLC he needs to live a long and happy life. |

Background: Lucy, a genteel elderly horse, was rescued by the Jackson County Animal Shelter. She arrived undernourished and infested with lice and worms. She has very poor control of her back end and has swelling in her back legs. Our veterinarian thinks she was a Premarin Mare. Since her arrival Lucy has gained weight and received regular medical treatment. |

| Background: Jake is a mature Arab Gelding rescued by the Klamath Falls Humane Society and The Equamore Foundation. He receives treatment for chronic sinus infections. He also has arthritis in his right knee and worn teeth. Overall though, he's an easy keeper. |

Background: Luke is a mature Paint Gelding rescued by Siskiyou County Animal Control. He arrived with skin cancer that hadn't been taken care of for years. He immediately received veterinarian treatments and made slow and steady improvement. Eventually his skin cancer went into remission, but he is constantly monitored for his condition. |

| Background: Zeus is an older Arab Gelding with very few teeth. He eats water-softened hay and oats. He's an easy keeper with good manners. |

Background: Buddy is an adult Quarter Horse Gelding. Buddy coughs when eating hay and is winded easily. Our veterinarian says he has an extra flap in his esophagus. As a result he's fed pellets, oats, and supplements soaked in water. |

| Background: Little Bit is a Red Roan pony rescued by Lane County Animal Control and Emerald Valley Equine Assistance. We think she's about 10 years old. When she arrived her hooves were incredibly overgrown and will take time and work to get back to where they should be. Meanwhile, she's slowly learning to trust people. |

Background: Chuck and Morgan are two handsome roosters who enjoy hanging out in the pasture with the horses and the goats. All they need to be happy is fresh air, green grass, clean water, and a little chicken feed. |

| Background: Honky and Tonky were rescued by the Department of Fish and Wildlife. Honky arrived with an old leg injury to one joint, so may always limp. Overall they are both happy and are acclimating to their new surroundings. |
|
Background: Early in the summer of 2009, Farm Sanctuary in Orland, California contacted us about taking in 14 ducks. Six of them have already been adopted, but we still have eight more. They all are in good health and enjoy sharing the Sanctuary's duck pond with Canada geese who come and go as they please. |

| Background: Chrissy is a beautiful and sweet mature Buckskin Mustang with a dorsal stripe who was rescued by Lane County Animal Control and Emerald Valley Equine Assistance. She loves to give kisses! She arrived in need of some dental work and a little underweight, but otherwise in sound health. |

Background: Callis is an adult Bay Arab/Quarter Horse rescued by Lane County Animal Control and Emerald Valley Equine Assistance. Both of Calli's parents are registered with their breed. Calli arrived with cracks all over her feet due to neglect and living in mud and muck. Healing will take time, but she's sound and is on the road to recovery. |

| Background: Fresa is an adult Quarter Horse who was rescued by Crescent City Animal Control. She use to have a job helping kids learn to ride. Her former owners planned to ship her off to be used as food for big felines. Crescent City Animal Control was able to step in and take her before that happened. |

Background: Lola is a mature Appaloosa who was rescued by Crescent City Animal Control. She'd be a great kid's horse. She arrived about 300 pounds underweight. Crescent City Animal Control feared she wouldn't make it through the winter in her condition. She's making great progress here at the Sanctuary. |

| Background: Pearl is a calm, compact domestic short hair with giant green eyes who was rescued by CARE, a feral cat rescue group. This pretty grey and white girl loves to snuggle and have her belly rubbed. She has a few minor medical issues that come with age. |

Background: Haiku is a Seal Point Siamese who was rescued by CARE, a feral cat rescue group. She loves to have her head scratched and will follow you around the room purring. Though she's fairly young, Haiku has just four teeth left. Our vet says it looks like the teeth were pulled professionally and the remaining teeth are nice and clean. Haiku does fine eating both dry and wet food. |

| Background: Tigger is a handsome young Tabby who was rescued by CARE, a feral cat rescue group. He's learning to trust people. He's shy, but if you move slow and sweet-talk him, he'll soon be purring under your fingers. |

Background: Lono came to us through the Jackson County sheriff's department. Most people don't think of stray horses, but Lono was one found running down the middle of the street! He's a handsome white horse with stunning blue eyes. He is about 10 years old and is learning to trust people. He is halter broke, gelded, and up to date on vaccinations. Lono was named for the Hawaiian god of agriculture and healing. |

| Background: Sampson was rescued by CARE, a feral cat rescue group. He demands to be loved; this big boy really likes to be petted. He'll bump his head against you and jump in your lap. Sampson loves being indoors with people, but he also likes to go on outside adventures. |

Background: Peachy was abandoned by her former owner while nursing kittens. She was full of worms and malnourished. After an immediate trip to our vet, she and her four babies were tucked safely away at the Sanctuary. Once the kittens are weaned Peachy has an appointment to be spayed, but until then she and her babies will rest easy. |

| Background: Blueberry is a shy young cat who loves to purr. He wants to be around people, but needs time to warm up. Apple is his sister. |

Background: Apple is an extremely shy young lady who is closely bonded with her brother Blueberry. When she comes out of her shell, Apple enjoys playing just like the other cats. |
