| Background: The Sanctuary recently rescued two young Holstein steers and a young Guernsey steer. They are named after characters from childrens' books. These cattle are still a little skittish around people, but with tender, loving care they'll adjust quickly to living in harmony with people and other animals.

Background: Lola is a mature Appaloosa who was rescued by Crescent City Animal Control. She'd be a great kid's horse. She arrived about 300 pounds underweight. Crescent City Animal Control feared she wouldn't make it through the winter in her condition. She's making great progress here at the Sanctuary. |

Background: Lisa is a 700-pound Yorkshire pig transferred to the Sanctuary from the Whatcom Humane Society of Bellingham, Washington. She was rescued after her former owner was caught hitting her in the face with a 2x4. In spite of her mistreatment, she is a bright, social animal who loves belly rubs.

Background: Rogue is a gentle quarter horse mare transferred to us by Crescent City Animal Control. She was found starving on a property and her young foal was found dead. Rogue enjoys a gentle scratch on her shoulders and socializing with other horses.

Background: Stevie is a Oberhasli goat transferred to the Sanctuary from Humane Society of the United States as part of an animal-cruelty investigation. Stevie has permanent mobility challenges, but he isn't letting that stop him from enjoying his new home where there are lots of friendly animals and people working together to help restore his health.

Background: Comet began life in a herd of wild mustangs. This young horse was purchased at an auction by Strawberry Mountain Mustang Rescue after they learned she was going be killed if no one bought her. Comet is very curious and friendly. Comet was named after a super-smart horse partnered with actor Bruce Campbell in the classic TV western "The Adventures of Brisco County Jr."

| Background: Freddy and Friday are two young Dwarf mix goats rescued by Multnomah County Animal Control. These two best buds are friendly and calm. They are always looking for new and exciting ways to keep the staff and volunteers on their toes. Freddy and Friday are the animal ambassadors for our education and outreach programs and thus are not available for adoption. |

Background: Wilbur and Orville are adult Nubian goats rescued by the Humane Society of the United States. We named them Orville and Wilbur for their "airplane ears." Wilbur is the brown one, he's a little more shy then his very outgoing brother, but still quite friendly. Orville, the black one, loves to be near people and get petted. These goats would be wonderful companions for a lonely horse. |

| Background: Princess is a very loving goat Nubian goat transferred from the Rogue Valley Humane Society. She comes right up and gives kisses. She also likes to take walks on leash. She's got a splendid personality and really is a Nubian Princess. |

Background: Pink with a black eye mask, young pot-bellied pig Rosie arrived generally healthy, but a tad overweight. She's very popular with the horses. Rosie has a well known affinity for carrots and blueberries.

| Background: Little Bit is a red roan pony rescued by Lane County Animal Control and Emerald Valley Equine Assistance. We think she's about 10 years old. When she arrived her hooves were incredibly overgrown and will take time and work to get back to where they should be. Meanwhile, she's slowly learning to trust people. |

Background: Morgan is a handsome Golden Phoenix rooster who enjoys hanging out in the pasture with the horses and the goats. All he needs to be happy is fresh air, green grass, clean water, and a little chicken feed. |

| Background: Honky and Tonky, our two Roman Tufted geese, were rescued by the Department of Fish and Wildlife. Honky arrived with an old leg injury to one joint, so may always limp. Overall they are both happy and are acclimating to their new surroundings. Our two Grey Back geese, Happy and Hope, were transfered to us by Equamore Horse Rescue. |

Background: Early in the summer of 2009, Farm Sanctuary in Orland, California contacted us about taking in some rescued ducks. Six of them have already been adopted, but we still have seven more. They all are in good health and enjoy sharing the Sanctuary's duck pond with Canada geese who come and go as they please. Their names are Mr. Dandy, Oculus, Reginald, Fillmore, Dudley, Francis, and Ducky. |

| Background: Chrissy is a beautiful and sweet mature buckskin mustang with a dorsal stripe who was rescued by Lane County Animal Control and Emerald Valley Equine Assistance. She loves to give kisses. She arrived in need of some dental work and a little underweight, but otherwise in sound health. |

Background: Calli is an adult Arab/quarter horse mix rescued by Lane County Animal Control and Emerald Valley Equine Assistance. Both of Calli's parents are registered with their breed. Calli arrived with cracks all over her feet due to neglect and living in mud and muck. Healing will take time, but she's sound and is on the road to recovery. |

| Background: Pearl is a calm, compact domestic short hair with giant green eyes who was rescued by CARE, a feral cat rescue group. This pretty grey and white girl loves to snuggle and have her belly rubbed. She has a few minor medical issues that come with age. |

Background: Haiku is a Seal Point Siamese who was rescued by CARE, a feral cat rescue group. She loves to have her head scratched and will follow you around the room purring. Though she's fairly young, Haiku has just four teeth left. Our vet says it looks like the teeth were pulled professionally and the remaining teeth are nice and clean. Haiku does fine eating both dry and wet food. |

| Background: Tigger is a handsome young tabby who was rescued by CARE, a feral cat rescue group. He's learning to trust people. He's shy, but if you move slow and sweet-talk him, he'll soon be purring under your fingers. |

Background: Peachy was abandoned by her former owner while nursing kittens. She was full of worms and malnourished. After an immediate trip to our vet, she and her four babies were tucked safely away at the Sanctuary. Once the kittens are weaned Peachy has an appointment to be spayed, but until then she and her babies will rest easy. |
