Although we're a little sad whenever one of our animal friends leaves for a new home, we're consoled with the knowledge that it frees up room on the farm for us to rescue another endangered animal.
We take great care to sensure every animal adopted goes to a loving home where the animal will be well cared for. Each potential adopter is thoroughly screened to ensure they are committed to lifetime care for the animals they adopt. Because of this, we ask a number of questions which we hope you understand are necessary in our screening process.
Each animal available for adoption has been evaluated by a veterinarian and are current on vaccinations. In addition, they’ve all undergone a basic behavioral assessment and have had their diets evaluated and specialized as needed. These animals are the victims of neglect, abuse, and abandonment and therefore will require new owners equipped to handle each of their special needs, whether it’s medical, behavioral, or diet.

How do I apply?
Adoption applications are available at the Sanctuary. You can also download an application online (see Adoption Applications below) and email it to info@sanctuaryone.org, deliver it in person, or mail it to Sanctuary One, 13195 Upper Applegate Road, Jacksonville, OR 97530
What happens after I apply?
After your application is reviewed you will be interviewed by our Sanctuary Manager. Then we will do a home inspection, which will be completed by our Sanctuary Manager or an authorized volunteer. Home visits are done to ensure that the animal you have selected is absolutely the best match for you.
How do I get my new companion?
Preferably all adopters will be able to transport animals to their new home. If that isn’t possible Sanctuary One will make every effort to assist you in getting your new companion to its forever home.
